Family Focused Resolutions

Welcome

Whether you’re married or in a de facto relationship, deciding to separate is the first of many tough decisions you’re going to have to make if you want to be able to 'consciously uncouple' - a term made popular by Gwyneth Paltrow which means

'To end your relationship in a respectful, compassionate and mindful way, prioritsing the well-being of all involved' - Katherine Woodward Thomas.

At Dormer Mediation we understand that being respectful, compassionate and mindful requires parties to be able to communicate.

In order to reach an agreement about these decisions, you’re going to need to have a conversation about how you will each move forward, and, if you have children together, how their best interests will remain at the heart of any decision you make.

Family Dispute Resolution provides a unique opportunity for separated parties to come together in a safe and confidential environment, free from judgement or bias, where the lines of communication can be opened in a respectful way, allowing each party to be heard and their concerns acknowledged.

My name is Renee Dormer and I am an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. I hold a Masters in Applied Family Law (majoring in Family Dispute Resolution), a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Communication.

Having practised as a family lawyer, representing parties in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in both property and parenting disputes, I know first-hand the benefits of reaching an early resolution compared to waiting for a judge to decide what’s best.

I am passionate about working with parties to reach an early resolution, avoid the financial burden of going to Court and foster your new relationship as co-parents.

We look forward to working with you on a family focussed resolution.
